hahaist011's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- veterans of foreign dwyers i hate not knowing what i'm doing so much. (that i pretty much never know what i'm doing anymore is, i guess, a story for some other time.) anyhow, last night i was lost as fuck in butler. butler! i think probably other people woulda felt the same: i didn't wanna call the heads at the party where i was for help. because that's embarrassing. what i think may have been different was that i was also too embarrassed to ask those heads what to do before i left said party. why? everybody knows i didn't grow up in weirdass butler (which one of my more adorable students at david b oliver high school called "the white ghetto"). anyway, it should probably be some point of pride or something that i am waaaaay more familiar with points-south from wexford and pretty much an idiot about going north. because it's like that. route 8 may be called Pittsburgh Road for as minute, but butler is the kinda place where people think of pgh as The Big City. anyway, somehow it seemed more acceptable to drive around like a stupidhead for way too long in the middle of the goddamn night. but actually: this shouldn't be so much a lament or even a lame analysis. it's a celebration! i called up my brother tony taylor. because i had a missed call. and because things were getting a little seriously confusing on the road. but i didn't even have to ask, "okay did you bring your laptop to st louis?" she's just immediately, "gimme an intersection!" turns out i was two seconds from figuring out what to do (kinda), but holy shit, how did i end up with pretty much The Best Person Ever as my bff?! not exaggerating. or being sentimental, i swear. just reporting. 11:30 a.m. - 2007-06-24 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
